Our interns will learn how to provide mental health services within a school context. Interns will gain exposure to individual and group therapy, learn diagnostic skills with children, suicide risk assessment and crisis protocols, and understand how to work with prescribers and other complementary support programs. Some students may have the opportunity to participate in specialized trainings in evidence based practices.

Opportunity time frame

Our school based internship begins the last week of August and ends in June. Interns will be offered individual and group supervision, a clinical education webinar series, and extensive training in our electronic health record, EVOVL.

Eligibility requirements

Our internship program accepts second year clinical graduate students from Master's Programs in Social Work and Mental Health Counseling. Bilingual applicants in Spanish are encouraged to apply, since their language skills are needed.
