Hiring Range
$21.57 – $26.96 per hour

At Pima Medical Institute's San Antonio campus, our substitute instructors play a vital role in keeping students on track — leading classroom lectures, conducting hands-on demonstrations, and mentoring students through the complexities of pharmacy law, pharmacology, and sterile compounding.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver assigned curriculum lessons based on the established Pharmacy Technician curriculum.
- Prepare lectures and practical demonstrations focused on real-world pharmacy methods and techniques.
- Monitor student attendance and report as required.
- Maintain student grades and support academic progress during coverage assignments.
- Ensure a safe and effective learning environment at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education:
- Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program (recognized by USDE or CHEA), OR
- Graduation from a recognized training entity (e.g., hospital-based program), OR
- A minimum of four (4) years of job-related training and experience for those who did not graduate from an accredited program.
- Experience: At least three (3) years of occupational (practical) experience in a pharmacy practice setting.
- Licensure: Current license, certification, or designation as required by Texas state law (CPhT).
- Skills: Strong verbal/written communication; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
