Job description
The athletic trainer will provide sports medicine coverage as directed and support all aspects of the athletic training room. The athletic trainer will assist in the administration of the sports medicine program under the direction of the athletic trainer. Additional job responsibilities will include; athletic training coverage as needed and assigned by the Athletic Trainer and approved by the Director of Rehab and Athletic Medicine for the outreach programs.

Requirements
To be seriously considered for this role, you’ll need to have
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training, the program must be accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs
Experience
New graduates may be considered; 2+ years is preferable. Experience in collegiate setting preferred. Experience with concussion management required.
Licenses/Certification
Certified by the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification and in good standing, Colorado State licensed athletic trainer, DORA, AHA/BLS for healthcare provider.
Responsibilities

- Provide Documentation of all injuries, treatments, return to play progressions, referrals, rehabilitation, health records and communication in accordance with WCU, NCAA, CHSAA and GVH hospital standards and best clinical practice
- Assist in any GVH Rehabilitation clinic in any appropriate capacity as needed
- Design and fabricate protective equipment and apply appropriate taping/wrapping to support extremities and prevent further aggravation to existing injuries.
- Develop rehabilitation programs for student athlete injuries and convey progress to athletic training staff and coaches.
- Assist in the coordination and administration of the substance abuse education program, and the mental health/wellness program. Collaborate with the WCU Counselling Center and the GVH Behavioral Health Department.
- Understand and implements the weekly Orthopedic Clinic. Uploads obtained medical documentation into electronic student athletes medical file.

Compensation
$23.06/ - $30.00/hr, depending on experience.
