Athletic Competition Assistant

Terms of Employment: Part-Time, up to 24 hours per week (hours may include morning, evening, and/or weekend hours)

Job summary

Provide critical athletic contest professional services, including things such as scorebook, libero tracker, PA announcer, scoreboard, shot clock, pre-game introductions, music, video, ticketing, and statistics. Position is an extension of game officials to ensure accurate, fair, and controlled official competition for athletes.

Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned professional tasks to a satisfactory level and maintain a high level of accountability.
  • Consistently display a strong understanding of athletic competition and applicable regulations.
  • Apply and maintain expertise in each sport for collegiate competition rules.
  • Deliver a collegiate-level quality experience.
  • Impartial application of competition rules to maintain the integrity of conference, league, and national regulations.
  • Ability to provide a positive experience for all people attending and participating in athletic competitions.
  • Provide a professional image of SC4.
  • Ability to effectively communicate (both verbally and in writing) and follow established college processes.
  • Maintain certification and continuing education as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Supervision received

Under the general supervision of the Athletics Operations Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree or demonstrated progress to degree highly preferred. High school diploma required.
  • Experience as an athlete, coach, sport administrator, or competition professional preferred
  • Experience working with the public, providing excellent customer service.
  • Available to work mornings or evenings and/or weekends.
