Coordinate with camp administration and clinical staff to implement behavioral strategies for campers with diverse social and emotional needs. Act as a primary resource for staff and families while promoting positive character traits and youth development.
Requires a minimum of two years of related experience and preferably a bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related human services field. Candidates must possess strong communication skills and the physical ability to perform camp duties.
The role of the Camp Support Worker is to coordinate efforts with the Camp Administration, counselors, nurse, and clinician to implement strategies or take steps to help campers with a diverse array of abilities and social and emotional needs to positively engage in camp. S/he will communicate with and act as a resource for staff and families. S/he will display and encourage the character traits of honesty, respect, caring and responsibility and utilize the Developmental Asset approach to Positive Youth Development.
