- Job Summary Performs routine dental prophylaxis, participates in patient education, trains dental hygiene students with minimal supervision.
- May require access to storage areas where medications are kept and carry out procedure that require the use of medications.

- Performs oral prophylaxis; remove hard and soft deposits and stains from the surfaces of teeth; polish all surfaces of teeth.
- Applies topical fluoride to the teeth.
- Exposes and develops radiographs.
- Gives oral hygiene instruction and counseling.
- Provides nutrition and dietary counseling.
- Makes and confirms appointments.
- Reviews medical and dental health history.
- Takes and records blood pressure.
- Charts dental disease.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supervisory/Management Responsibilities This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Qualifications
Education - Associate degree in Dental Hygiene Experience - No experience required. One (1) year of experience preferred. In Lieu Of NA Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses SC Registered Dental Hygienist
