Duties and Responsibilities
- Include:
- Plans and teaches courses that fulfill the current curriculum goals and objectives.
- Remains current with subject matter and instructional methodology.
- Employs appropriate assessment techniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals and objectives.
- Communicates progress in the course to students in a timely manner.
- Determines and submits students' grades in accordance with established College policies and procedures.
- The instructor must be competent and be able to teach the students the following competencies including:

- Preparing Patients for Medical Tests and Examinations
- Assisting Physicians During Examinations
- Explaining Medical Procedures to Patients

- Preparing Patients for X-Rays
- Administering Topical, Oral, or Intramuscular Medications
- Filling Out Insurance Forms
- Filing Patient Medical Records
- Maintaining the Confidentiality of Patient Information
- Managing inventory and ordering supplies
- Scheduling Patient Medical Procedures
- Following Up on Patient Visits
- Updating Patient Charts
- Ordering Lab Tests

Program Area Responsibilities (as applicable)
• Responsible for teaching, lecture and lab-based classes in various teaching modes (traditional, hybrid, and on-line) related to the field of medical assistant.
Education and/or Work Experience
- Certified Medical Assistant/ Registered Medical Assistant.
- Associate Degree in related field preferred
- Has worked in an Ambulatory care setting for a minimum of 2 years
- Minimum of two years teaching experience

- Proficient in word-processing and presentation software, internet, and e-mail.
