Responsibilities
The Recreational/Expressive Therapist functions as an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients ranging in age from preschool through adolescences depending on which unit worked. Recreational/Expressive Therapist works under the direction of the Program Directors.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in recreational therapy or like. Recreational Certification, MT-BC & LPMT, CTRS, Master's in AT-CB Experience: Completion of fieldwork as part of degree requirements. Knowledge of psychiatric patient care techniques with understanding of mental illness and group work. Previous work experience as a recreational/activity therapist in a psychiatric hospital is preferred.

- Requirements: CPR Certification and successful completion of Crisis Intervention Training (CPI) including appropriate use of Seclusion and Restraint immediately following employment and prior to performing patient care. Required to work flexible hours and shifts, such as weekends and afternoon shift hours.
