Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and Christ-centered Lower School Teacher who will nurture the academic, spiritual, and emotional development of young students. The ideal candidate will be committed to teaching foundational subjects with a biblical perspective while fostering a love for learning, personal growth, and Christ-like character in each child.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Early Childhood Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Teaching certification or experience in elementary education, with a preference for Christian school experience.
  • Strong understanding of child development and how to implement effective teaching strategies for young learners.
  • A passionate, Christ-centered faith and the ability to model Christian values in every aspect of life.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students and parents.
  • Strong classroom management skills with a warm, nurturing, and disciplined approach.
  • Active participation in a Christian church community and a desire to mentor students in their faith journey.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a dynamic, engaging curriculum for students in early elementary grades (K-5), integrating core subjects such as Bible, language arts, math, science, and social studies.
  • Infuse biblical teachings and Christian values throughout lessons and classroom activities, encouraging students to grow in their faith and understanding of God's Word.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment where students feel safe, loved, and valued.
  • Foster spiritual growth by leading daily Bible lessons, prayer times, and chapel experiences.
  • Assess student progress through regular evaluations, assignments, and observations, providing individual support and encouragement to promote success.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues, collaborating as part of a team to support each child’s academic and personal growth.
  • Promote character development and moral integrity by integrating Christian teachings into everyday classroom interactions.
  • Support students’ emotional and social development by teaching responsibility, respect, kindness, and other Christ-like values.
  • Engage students in age-appropriate, hands-on learning activities, making lessons interactive and enjoyable.
  • Participate in school events, activities, and extracurricular programs that foster school spirit and community involvement.

This position is expected to be on campus Monday through Friday from 7

30am-3:30 pm This is a 190 day position over the course of 10 months.
