Job description

Description Purpose The Youth Care Worker I is responsible for providing a variety of direct care services to residents, assisting professional staff in the implementation of individual treatment plans, and ensuring the effective operation of the residential program. Pay $18.00 per hour plus $3.00 per hour shift differential. Additional pay based on Residential Experience and/or a Bachelor's degree.

  • Essential Job Functions Teaches and monitors behaviors/skills according to individualized treatment plans using the Psycho-Educational Model (PEM) Models' appropriate relationships with youth and staff Teaches meal preparation and living skills.
  • Attends consultation meetings.
  • Monitors and maintains a safe living and learning environment for youth (e.g., bed checks, recreational activities, educational activities, etc.) Attends to youths' medical/physical conditions.
  • Assists in the preparation of youth summaries and reports (e.g., clinical summaries, behavioral report cards, discharge summaries, incident reports, etc.) Assists in processing documents for youth intake and departure.
  • Participates in Safe Crisis Management as needed.
  • Updates youth files Participates in shift transition meetings.
  • Attends weekly staff meetings and daily feedback sessions.
  • Transports youth to and from cottage/campus to school, appointments, and outings Supervisory Responsibilities This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
