  • Located near Three Peaks Recreational Park and overlooking Cedar City, Utah, Discovery Ranch South is a relationship-based residential treatment center based in experiential therapy.
  • Intermediate Secure Cabin (ISC) staff are responsible for providing direct care, supervision, and therapeutic support to students residing in the Intermediate Secure Cabin.
  • Staff implement program structure, supervision requirements, and behavioral expectations in alignment with DRS policies, safety protocols, and clinical recommendations.
  • This role supports students who require increased supervision, clearly defined limits, and consistent structure while participating in therapeutic interventions focused on emotional regulation, accountability, and pro-social skill development.
  • Staff maintain a strong emphasis on safety, predictability, and clinical consistency while supporting student progression toward less restrictive placements.
  • Key Responsibilities Maintain a secure and structured cabin environment in compliance with DRS safety and supervision standards Provide enhanced supervision based on students’ assessed treatment and safety needs Implement and adhere to all security, supervision, movement, and privilege protocols specific to the Intermediate Secure level Utilize approved Aegis de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed interventions in response to student dysregulation Consistently enforce program rules, expectations, and boundaries to support predictability and therapeutic stability Monitor student location, behavior, and interactions in accordance with program expectations and clinical direction Complete accurate, timely, and objective documentation of behaviors, incidents, and interventions as required Collaborate with clinical, residential leadership, and multidisciplinary teams regarding student progress and readiness for transition 19+ years of age High School diploma or equivalent Eligible to work in the USA Able to pass background check Able to pass motor vehicle record check Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment) Works well within a team Strong problem-solving aptitude Good judgement Safety-oriented Firm, healthy boundaries Must be able to complete responsibilities under various weather conditions such as snow, ice, heat.
